Fitted before it left the stand
They measured me on the fit bike, recommended an S instead of the M I would have ordered, and swapped the stem before delivery. 4,200 km later the R1 still has not creaked once.
Our first carbon race frame: dropped seatstays, truncated-aerofoil tubes and fully internal routing, laid up in Toray T800 and tested for a full season by the Saturday chaingang before a single one was sold. It is stiff where it pays - bottom bracket and head tube - and forgiving through the seatpost, so you finish 150 km fresher than you expect.
Built with Shimano 105 Di2 12-speed, hydraulic discs and 45 mm carbon wheels, the R1 weighs 7.9 kg in a size M. Clearance for 32 mm tyres means it doubles as a fast winter bike on the cobbles of the Amstel.

The G2 arrived in their van with pedals on and tyres sealed. I rode it straight onto the Utrechtse Heuvelrug the same afternoon. The 1×12 gearing is perfect for loaded weekends.
