Cadence club riders rolling out along the Amstel at dawn

Every Saturday the club rolls out from the workshop door in three groups - a 60 km social loop along the Amstel, a 95 km tempo ride to the Vechtstreek and a 120 km chaingang for anyone chasing Strava. No membership, no drop policy on the social ride, and coffee back at the counter from 11:00.

06The workshop

Built by a mechanic, not a box

Bikes that arrive in a box arrive half-built. Ours leave the workstand with bearings greased, cables cut to your size, gears indexed and bolts torqued to spec - then a 10 km test ride before delivery. Bring it back at 500 km and we re-index, re-true and re-torque it for free.

Cadence started as two workstands and a coffee machine in a former tram depot on the edge of the Westerpark. Founders Joris Aalbers and Mei Lindqvist built wheels for local racers by day and led a Saturday ride by the weekend; the shop grew because riders kept asking them to build the whole bike.

    Femke de Groot

Aero R1 Carbon · Saturday chaingang

“They measured me on the fit bike, swapped the stem for a 90 mm before it left the stand, and the R1 has felt like an extension of me ever since. 4,200 km and not a single creak.”
  2. P2

    Tariq Bensaïd

Allroad G2 · Saturday social loop

“I came for the gravel bike and stayed for the club. The social group waits at every junction and the coffee after is half the reason I get up at seven.”

    Ilse Verhoeven

Grachten City 8 · Daily commuter

“My Grachten has done four Dutch winters on the daily commute. The first-service check caught a worn chain early - that is the kind of shop you keep.”
