Everything starts in the soil

We farm 46 certified organic acres above the Esopus Creek and make everything we sell within nine miles of the field it grew in. Every batch carries the harvest date and the name of the grower.

Sustainability

Regenerative, refillable, accounted for

We have not tilled a field since 2019. Cover crops, compost from our own herb mash and rotational sheep grazing have taken soil organic matter from 2.8% to 5.1%, which the Cornell Soil Health Lab tests for us every spring. Amber glass comes back through our refill program at $0 shipping, and we publish a third-party verified carbon inventory - 312 tonnes CO2e last year, offset and, more to the point, falling.

In other people’s kitchens

“I have taken a lot of adaptogen powders and this is the first one where I could actually look up the farm, the harvest date and the lab report. The tea is genuinely good on its own terms, too.”
Priya Raghunathan · Customer since 2021
“The body oil replaced three things on my shelf. My skin likes it, the glass goes back to them, and nobody in this house is allergic to anything in it.”
Dana Okonkwo · Customer since 2019

The Almanac

What we are harvesting this month

One letter a month from the field: what is going in the ground, what is coming out of it, and one plant explained properly. No countdown timers.
