Every Aurélie formula states its active percentage on the outer carton - 2% bakuchiol, 10% niacinamide, 0.3% encapsulated retinal. If a percentage is too low to do anything, we would rather not include the ingredient at all.

Aurélie was founded by a cosmetic chemist who spent eleven years formulating for other people’s labels and grew tired of watching good actives diluted down to a marketing percentage. The first product - a 10% niacinamide toner - was made in a rented bench space in the 11th arrondissement and sold to 300 people.
Evidence
Each formula goes through a supervised 12-week user trial before it is released, with panels of 80 to 200 people across four skin tones and three climates. We publish the panel size beside every claim, including the ones that did not flatter us.

“I am a dermatology nurse and I read ingredient lists for a living. Aurélie is one of the very few houses that states concentrations without being asked. The 0.3% retinal is genuinely well encapsulated - no flaking in week two.”
I am a dermatology nurse and I have started and abandoned four retinoids. This is the first one I got past week three with. No flaking, no stinging around the nose, and the texture change on my cheeks was obvious by the second month.
The 10% niacinamide is the only thing that has ever calmed the redness around my nose without making it worse first. It is not a dramatic product. It is just quietly better every month, and the pH being stated on the bottle is why I bought it.
The Formulation Letter
One letter a month from the bench: trial results, ingredient explainers, and the formulas that did not make it. No countdowns, no flash sales.
