Idukki 2026 harvest

Chocolate that tastes of where it grew

We buy wet cacao from 34 smallholder farms in Idukki and the Anamalais, ferment it for six days in wooden boxes, and conche it for 48 hours on our own stone melangeur. Nothing else goes in but cane sugar and cocoa butter.

Idukki 2026 harvest is in the conche - single-origin bars ship from 12 October

Stone melangeur conching cacao in the Ahmedabad workshop

Bean to bar

Six days of fermentation, 48 hours in the conche

Wet beans reach our Ahmedabad workshop within 40 hours of harvest. They ferment six days in Kerala rosewood boxes, sun-dry for eight, then roast at 118°C for 22 minutes before two days on the stone. We pay ₹78 a kilo for wet cacao - roughly double the mandi rate - and publish the farm name on every wrapper.

What arrived, and in what condition

The 70% actually tastes of fruit

I have bought most Indian craft bars and this is the first 70% where the red banana note on the wrapper is genuinely there. The snap was perfect even though it travelled in April - the ice packs were still cold when it arrived.

Ordered 60 Diwali hampers, zero follow-up needed

We sent hampers to clients in four cities. The logo foiling matched our brand guideline exactly, all deliveries landed on the nominated date, and the GST invoice came through with our PO number already on it. Eleven days from approval to delivery.

    1,400 favours, one small hiccup

The favour boxes were beautiful and the Gujarati printing on the sleeve was spot on. They pushed our dispatch by a day because of the heat, which they explained upfront - mildly stressful before a wedding, but the chocolate arrived in perfect condition.

Missed the 82% and I am still annoyed

Lot 26/04 sold out while I was deciding. Bought the truffle box instead and the filter coffee ganache is the best thing I have eaten this year. Please make more Kallar Valley.
