Took the trial expecting to return them
My flat is concrete, glass and not much else. The Monitor 5s were warm without getting boomy even fifteen centimetres from the wall. I never called the courier - I bought the stands instead.

The pair that plays every Thursday in our listening room. Twin 165 mm paper-cone woofers, a 130 mm midrange and the same silk dome tweeter as the Monitor 5, in a braced solid-wood cabinet that stands 104 cm tall on steel outrigger feet.
The bass port fires downward into the plinth, so the Tower 8 sits happily 30 cm from a back wall without booming. We deliver and place them for you across most of the EU - and if your room disagrees, the 30-night trial applies here too.
