A workshop, a listening room and a long warranty
Resonant Audio designs and builds headphones, loudspeakers, turntables and valve amplifiers in a courtyard workshop in Kreuzberg, Berlin.
We started in 2014 rebuilding amplifiers for friends. The first new product - a pair of walnut bookshelf speakers - came three years later, because we could not find one that sounded honest and looked at home on a bookshelf. That remains the brief for everything we make: it has to sound right, and it has to belong in a room people actually live in.
Cabinets are cut from FSC-certified walnut, ash and oak sourced from a mill in Thuringia, then oiled by hand. Drivers are measured on our own bench and matched in pairs to within half a decibel. Every valve amplifier is burned in for 48 hours and measured again before it is packed. Each box carries the name of the person who built it.
Because a showroom flatters everything, every product comes with a 30-night home trial and free collection if it is not right. Everything carries a three-year warranty on parts and labour, and our service bench keeps re-capping, re-coning and re-tubing products long after that - including ones we built a decade ago.

What customers say
“I took the Monitor 5s home on the trial expecting to send them back - my flat is all concrete and glass. Thirty nights later I sent the courier away and bought the stands.”
“The A-50 is the first amplifier I have owned that I want to look at with the lights off. It also happens to make my old Rega sound twenty years younger.”
“One of my HP-1 cups developed a buzz after two years. They had it on the bench in three days, replaced the driver and sent back the measurement of the new one.”
Liner notes, once a month
