Pleated round cushion, buckwheat hull
A traditional pleated zafu that tilts the pelvis forward just enough for the spine to stack without effort. Buckwheat hull shifts and settles under you, then holds; kapok gives a softer, higher seat for anyone whose hips are tight.
Sewn in Rishikesh from organic cotton canvas with a side handle and a zip for adjusting the height - take a handful of fill out if your knees float, add it back as your hips open.
Packed by hand at our Tapovan studio in kraft paper and a reusable jute sling - no plastic, no foam peanuts. Free delivery across India on orders over ₹2,499, otherwise ₹99; 3-6 working days by surface courier. Cash on Delivery available, and a GST invoice is emailed with every order.

I teach four vinyasa classes a week and have worn through cheaper mats in months. The 6 mm Ganga mat has had a year of heated classes and my hands have not slipped once. The rubber smell was gone in a week of leaving it unrolled.
I wrote in asking for the thickest mat because of my knees. The studio replied the same afternoon and suggested the 6 mm plus a folded blanket for kneeling, so I would not wobble in balances. Exactly right. Paid on delivery, arrived in four days.
The starter kit arrived in a kraft tube and a jute bag - not a scrap of plastic. The card with the beginner poses is lovely and my mother follows it every morning with the strap and blocks.
The buckwheat zafu felt hard at first; after a week of sitting it shaped itself and now my back stays straight for twenty minutes. Four stars only because I would like a darker colour option.
