Everything a first class asks for, chosen by our teachers: the 4 mm Ganga natural rubber mat, a pair of slim cork blocks, a 2.4 m organic cotton strap and a jute carry sling to take it all to the studio. Bought together it costs less than the four separately.
Every kit includes a fold-out card from Acharya Devika with twelve beginner poses and how each prop helps in them, plus a link to a recorded first-week sequence. Gift it with a handwritten note at no extra cost.

I teach four vinyasa classes a week and have worn through cheaper mats in months. The 6 mm Ganga mat has had a year of heated classes and my hands have not slipped once. The rubber smell was gone in a week of leaving it unrolled.
I wrote in asking for the thickest mat because of my knees. The studio replied the same afternoon and suggested the 6 mm plus a folded blanket for kneeling, so I would not wobble in balances. Exactly right. Paid on delivery, arrived in four days.
The starter kit arrived in a kraft tube and a jute bag - not a scrap of plastic. The card with the beginner poses is lovely and my mother follows it every morning with the strap and blocks.
The buckwheat zafu felt hard at first; after a week of sitting it shaped itself and now my back stays straight for twenty minutes. Four stars only because I would like a darker colour option.
