Eleven Diwalis in a row now. The besan roast is proper - grainy, not fudgy, and you can smell the ghee when you open the tin. Ordered at 9 in the morning and it was at the house by evening.
Besan batter is dropped through the finest jhara we own so the boondi comes out no bigger than a mustard seed, fried in ghee for under a minute, then soaked briefly in cardamom syrup and pressed into laddu while still warm.
Ordered by the hundred for Janmashtami and temple prasad, and made the same way for a box of six. Soft enough to come apart in the hand, never dense or sticky.

Real mawa, no doubt about it, and the kesar is not just colour. Only four days shelf life though, so time the order for the day of your puja rather than ordering ahead like I did.
