Full-cream milk from our Navsari dairy is reduced in an open kadai for three hours until it becomes mawa, then worked with sugar and saffron and shaped by hand while it is still warm enough to mark with a thumb.

Real mawa, no doubt about it, and the kesar is not just colour. Only four days shelf life though, so time the order for the day of your puja rather than ordering ahead like I did.
