Cast brass, deep oil well
Our first product, redrawn twice since. The well holds enough oil for a wick to burn past forty minutes, so the diya is still alight when the aarti finishes - the shallow ones sold everywhere are not.
Sand-cast in solid brass in Rajkot, then hand-turned on the base so each one sits flat on a marble ledge without rocking. The rim is rolled slightly outward, which keeps oil off the shelf and lets you wipe the whole thing clean in one pass.
Dispatched from our Ahmedabad studio in 2-3 working days; during Navratri and the fortnight before Diwali, allow 5-7 days. Pan-India courier with tracking, Cash on Delivery available up to ₹5,000, and a GST invoice with every order. Free gift wrapping in handmade paper with a handwritten message card - add the message at checkout. For bulk and corporate Diwali orders of 25 pieces or more, write to gifting@aanganliving.example for pricing and lead times. Brass and copper are living metals: they will darken with time and need a polish every few months. Every order ships with a jar of our lemon-and-chalk polish and printed care instructions.

Bought the 24-inch samai for my mother when she shifted to Bopal. It is genuinely heavy, it comes apart for cleaning, and she has lit it every morning since March. The antique finish has darkened a little and honestly it looks better for it.
Sent the Diwali box to forty clients. I gave them the address list on Monday and everything was dispatched by Thursday with GST invoices in order. Two clients called to ask where the box came from, which has never happened with our previous gifting vendor.
The urli is beautiful and the weight is reassuring. It did darken within about two months in Mumbai humidity - the polish they send works well, but you should expect to do it. Docking one star only because I wish the care card said so more loudly on the product page.
Wide neck, no seam, and it fits my bag upright. I have had three copper bottles before and this is the first one I could clean properly. Ordered two more as return gifts after my daughter’s naming ceremony.
