Twelve days from the dahlias
I followed the care card to the letter - re-cut every two days, fresh water - and the Café au Lait dahlias lasted twelve days. The box is entirely paper and cardboard, which matters to me.
Single-variety stems · cut to order in Kent
Dinner-plate and ball dahlias cut the morning of your delivery on Hattie’s family farm near Faversham, conditioned overnight in our cold room and sent in a water pouch. They are the best thing about a British autumn, and they are only here until the first frost.
Choose a variety and a number of stems. Café au Lait is the famous one - huge, blush and ruffled; Rip City is a deep velvet claret; Penhill Watermelon a coral-pink that glows at dusk. Re-cut and give them deep water and they will reward you for a week.
Stems are cut to order at the grower, conditioned overnight in our Hackney workshop and delivered in a water pouch made from compostable cornstarch. London Zones 1-6 by bike or electric van; next-day courier to mainland UK for £7.95.

Sent a Classic Hackney to my mum on her birthday at short notice. The rider texted a photo on delivery and the handwritten card was lovely. It looked like an armful from a garden, not a supermarket.
Outside London so it came next day by courier - still perfectly fresh in its water pouch. One star off only because the Deluxe was a little smaller than I imagined; the stem counts on the size guide are accurate though.
Hattie walked us round the dahlia field in August and built everything from what was in flower that week. No foam, nothing flown in, and they pressed our leftover stems into a frame for us.
