Trousseau packing
The bride’s trunk, laid out tray by tray
In Rajasthani homes the trousseau is shown before it is sent: sarees, jewellery and dry fruit arranged on velvet trays for the families to see. We make the trays, the brocade saree covers and the engraved name plaques, matched to one colour story, and we can pack and label the whole trousseau in our studio if you send the pieces to us.

Since 1987
A card-printer’s shop off Johari Bazaar
Gopal Sharma opened a letterpress stall in the lanes behind Johari Bazaar in 1987, printing kankotri - wedding invitations - for the jewellers’ families on either side. When the families began asking for matching return gifts, his wife Kamla started stitching brocade potlis at the back of the shop.
Their daughter Nandini runs Shubh Aangan today with twenty-two printers, tailors and packers. The letterpress still runs on Saturdays, every proof is checked by a person who reads both scripts, and nothing leaves the studio without a name on it.
