Perch Dining Chair

Steam-bent oak, hand-woven paper cord

A chair light enough to lift with one hand - 11.2 lb - and stiff enough to survive a decade of being dragged across a floor. The back rail is steam-bent from a single length of white oak and let into the rear legs with a mortise-and-tenon; there is not a screw in the frame above the seat.

The seat is woven by hand in unbleached Danish paper cord and takes about four hours per chair. It gives slightly under weight, wears to a darker honey over the years, and can be re-woven by us when it eventually goes.

Four years, two kids, one flood

We specified the Halden table for a client in Cobble Hill in 2022. It has been refinished once - forty minutes with a sanding block and oil - and the through-tenons have not moved at all. I have since put it in three more projects.

    Thirteen weeks, worth every one

The Marlow arrived in the three-seat, oatmeal bouclé. The studio sent a photo of the fabric roll before cutting and the delivery crew took the door off and rehung it. A year in, the cushions still recover overnight and the frame is silent.

Beautiful chair, read the seat height

The Vessel is everything the description says - the back angle really is the point. My only note is that at 16 inches the seat is lower than most lounge chairs, which is wonderful for reading and less so if you get up often. Measure against what you own.

The lighting is the quiet win

Bought three Corso pendants for a dining table and hung them at the 32 inches the studio recommended. No glare in anyone’s eyes, and the warm-dim genuinely drops to candlelight rather than going grey. The spun shade has no seam anywhere on it.
