A dry fruit house that grades its own lots
Forty years of buying nuts by name, region and grade - never by the sack.
Mevad House was founded in 1986 as a counter on Relief Road in Ahmedabad, selling almonds, raisins and Anjeer to families who bought for the year in one Diwali visit. We still trade with descendants of the same Iranian and Nashik suppliers our grandfather dealt with, and we still buy against a named grade rather than a price per sack.
Everything now passes through our unit in Narol. Lots arrive, go to moisture testing, then to the hand-sorting table where broken kernels, shrivels and foreign matter are pulled out before a grade is confirmed. Only then does a lot get a batch code, a vacuum seal and a place on the shelf. Mamra under 6% moisture, W240 counted at the standard, Kashmiri walnuts sorted for light halves - the grade card in the box names all of it.
The gifting desk grew out of customers asking us to pack for their staff. It now runs through Diwali, Raksha Bandhan and the wedding season, doing custom-branded corporate hampers, wedding favour trays and bulk orders with a single GST invoice. In the Diwali rush we ask for ten days on anything branded, because we would rather quote honestly than ship late.

What customers say
“We ordered 420 branded hampers for our Diwali distribution across three offices. The sleeves carried our logo, every box reached on time and the GST invoice came through the same week.”
“I have bought Mamra from four shops on CG Road. This is the only one where the kernel actually breaks the way Mamra should. My mother noticed before I said anything.”
