Oxidised German silver, mirror inlay
A dome jhumka stamped with the triangle-and-dot border Rabari women embroider onto their kanjari, with a round mirror set into the face the way a Kutchi embroiderer would stitch it. Oxidised in a sulphur bath and rubbed back with ash, so the stamps catch the light and the recesses stay black.
The dome is German silver to keep a statement size under ₹999; the hook that goes through your ear is 925 sterling. Twenty-two ghungroo bells along the rim - enough to hear when you turn your head, not enough to hear across a room.

I sent a photo of my mirror-work lehenga late at night and had three stack suggestions by breakfast, with prices. Ordered the Rabari jhumkas on Cash on Delivery and they arrived in two days in a little cotton potli with a care card. Darker and better in person.
The 925 stamp is literally inside the band. I have worn these bichiya through a whole monsoon and a beach trip and they have only got a nicer patina. Bought the payal after and it rings exactly like my nani’s.
Nobody at college believes the clip-on isn’t pierced. One star off only because the crescent is smaller than it looks in the photo - check the 6 mm size before you order. Exchange was easy when I tried the L-pin instead.
Loved that the choker page says plainly it is German silver and why. Most places pretend everything is sterling. It still looks incredible with a white shirt and the indigo dori is gorgeous.
