Every recipe is written with a veterinary nutritionist and cooked from ingredients we buy at KR Market and from two poultry farms outside Hosur. Meat and fish make up at least half of every non-veg bowl; the rest is vegetables, a little millet or red rice for slow energy, cold-pressed coconut or sesame oil and a measured vitamin-mineral mix. We print the exact split on every pack.

It started with one tiffin for one old dog
Tiffin Tails began in Lakshmi Hegde’s home kitchen in 2021, cooking chicken and red rice for her ageing Labrador, Kaapi, after he went off packaged food. Neighbours in her Indiranagar lane started asking for a dabba too, and by the end of that year she was cooking for forty dogs out of a rented kitchen above a darshini.
Today we cook every morning in an FSSAI-licensed kitchen on 12th Main, with a veterinary nutritionist who signs off every recipe and a small team of cooks who used to work in restaurant kitchens. We still chop by hand, still buy vegetables at KR Market before dawn, and still pack each day’s meals like a lunch from home.
