A house built on restraint
Fifty years of winter coats from a single workshop in Florence.
Maison Eldr began in 1974 as a two-room tailoring workshop on Via dei Fossi. Our founder, Elena Dreoni, made winter coats for a handful of Florentine families who wanted nothing on the outside and everything on the inside. The house takes its name from the first three letters of hers.
We still work from that address. Twenty-two artisans cut, sew and finish every garment we sell, and we release two collections a year - no capsules, no collaborations, no midseason markdowns. When a fibre runs out, the piece is gone.
What we do promise is permanence. Anything Maison Eldr has ever made can be returned to Via dei Fossi for repair, re-lining or re-cutting, free of charge, for as long as you own it. Roughly a fifth of the work that passes through the atelier each year is restoration.

What customers say
“I have worn the same Eldr overcoat for six winters. It has been re-lined once, free of charge, and looks better than the day it arrived.”
“The fit is the closest thing to bespoke I have found off the rack. Nothing else in my wardrobe comes close.”
