A jewellery house that shows its working
Forty-eight years of Kundan, Jadau and temple work from one family workshop in Ahmedabad.
Vraj Jewels began in 1978 as a six-foot counter in Manek Chowk, where Vrajlal Soni sold plain 22K chains and repaired other people’s settings. He kept a brass scale on the customer’s side of the glass, and that small habit - showing the working - became the whole business.
Today the house makes in five disciplines. Kundan and Jadau for bridal, where uncut polki stones are held by hammered 24K foil alone. Meenakari, fired in Jaipur in the old red, white and green, on the reverse of every jhumka we make. Temple work in the south Indian idiom, chased in repoussé by a family of karigars from Nagercoil. Everyday 22K hallmarked gold. And a 925 sterling silver line for the next generation, who want payal and studs they can actually wear to work.
Every gold piece leaves the boutique with a six-digit BIS HUID stamped into the metal, a certificate of authenticity naming the karigar who finished it, and a GST invoice that separates the gold rate, the stone value and the making charge. Anything we have ever sold can be brought back for exchange or buy-back at the day’s rate, for as long as the family owns it.

What customers say
“I chose my entire wedding trousseau over three video calls from Toronto and one fitting when I landed. The polki choker matched my panetar exactly and the making charges were on the quote from day one.”
“My mother bought her mangalsutra here in 1994. They exchanged it against a new one last year at the day’s gold rate without a single argument about wastage.”
