Four decades off Ratan Pole
A family cloth house in Ahmedabad, buying handloom directly from Gujarat’s weavers since 1982.
Bhikhabhai Mehta opened a single counter in the cloth market off Ratan Pole in 1982, selling bandhani odhnis he brought back from Jamnagar on the overnight bus. His son added Surat zari sarees in the nineties; his granddaughter, who runs the shop today, added Ajrakh from Kutch and put the whole catalogue online in 2019.
We buy the way the family always has - in person, at the loom. Our Patola comes from one household in Patan that has woven double-ikat for six generations; our zari borders come from two Surat mills we have dealt with for twenty-five years; our Ajrakh yardage is printed and sun-washed at Ajrakhpur near Bhuj. Forty-six weaver and artisan families supply us, and every product page names the town the cloth came from.
Everything else happens above the shop. Eleven tailors cut and stitch blouses, chaniya cholis and kurta sets to measure, which is why a custom piece takes five to seven days rather than shipping the same afternoon. Fall and pico on a saree is done here too, and it is free.

What customers say
“I ordered a Gharchola for my daughter’s wedding from Toronto and it arrived in nine days, blouse stitched exactly to the measurements I sent. My mother recognised the Patan weave immediately.”
“Every Navratri I buy one chaniya choli here and it survives nine nights of garba. The mirror work has never come loose - that tells you who stitched it.”
