Lune Studio makes waterproof, hypoallergenic gold jewellery for every day - in thick 14k vermeil and solid gold, finished and engraved by hand in Brooklyn.
We started in 2018 with a single dome ring cast on a kitchen table in Greenpoint. Our founder, Celeste Navarro, wanted jewellery that sat between costume and fine: real gold, priced for everyday, and tough enough that you never had to take it off. The first forty rings sold to friends, then friends of friends, and the studio moved to Kent Avenue a year later.
Most of what we make is 14k gold vermeil - a 2.5-micron layer of gold bonded to recycled sterling silver, five times the thickness the industry calls standard. It does not tarnish in the shower or the sea, and it contains no nickel or lead. A small solid-gold line, cast in recycled 14k, sits alongside it for pieces meant to last a lifetime.
Every ring is cut to stack flush with every other ring we make, now and in future collections. Engraving is done by hand on our bench, not outsourced, and every order - a $48 stud or a tennis bracelet - leaves in the same recycled ivory box with a polishing cloth and a handwritten card.

2018
The kitchen table
Celeste casts the first forty Luna dome rings in Greenpoint and sells them to friends.
2019
Kent Avenue
The studio moves into a former sail loft with a tall arched window and three benches.
2021
Engraving in-house
We hire our first bench engraver and bring every personalised order into the studio.

Solid gold
A small line in recycled solid 14k gold launches, with free lifetime polishing.
